Welcome to the Thunder Family

Thunder Adaptive Sports was created by a dad who was told his daughter could not participate. What simply began as finding a solution to include his daughter has quickly grown into a series of adaptive sports programs for both youth and adult participants with a permanent physical disability  and/or medical diagnosis which prevents them from participating in a traditional manner. We strive to creatively include  those who are left out.

YOU must take the first step and join us! All of our programs offer a no commitment, entry level, and strictly recreational environment. There is NO cost to participate in our programs at the recreation level.

Thunder Adaptive Sports is a registered 501c3 Not-For-Profit in the State of Illinois and we are 100% funded by donations, sponsors, and good will. Our Board of Directors all volunteer their time and do not receive any financial compensation.

ALL of the programs we offer require a lot of help and assistance from volunteers. Give back to a friend, family member, and your community by joining us as a volunteer.

Do not let your disability be an excuse to sit out. Taking advantage of local programs is key to being active and social...both are important to your mental and physical health.
